Opening of the embroidery exhibition "Nature and rural environment" by Mila Gorun

On February 27, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Lithuania, in cooperation with the Vilnius College of Technologies and Design and the French Institute in Lithuania, have varnished an exhibition of embroideries called "Nature and Rural Environment" by Mila Gorun. The event was organized at the library of the College and were invited the Director of the French Institute, the diplomatic corps in Vilnius, Vice-Dean of the Design Faculty and the students of the College.
The exhibition of embroideries by Mila Gorun includes works of natural landscapes and rural environment in the Republic of Moldova and Lithuania. The artist is originally from the Republic of Moldova and lives in the native country and in Lithuania, so that in her art works is displayed through colors the beautiful landscapes from both countries, including embroidered paintings about the Moldovan village.
Ambassador Sergiu Mihov, in his speech at the opening of the exhibition, mentioned the importance of the nature conservation, national folklore and rural environment in both countries, also the fact that by exposing these art works to the young public will contribute for a more profound understanding of wealth and diversity of soul, everlastingness born in the village and eternity of values.
In his turn, College professor Jonas Malinauskas emphasized the fact that the exhibition offers a good opportunity to bring to light the beautiful rural views from both countries and show to the students the old techniques used by our ancestors and that can be adapted to the new methods of design. As well, expressed the gratitude for the workshop to be provided by Mila Gorun on March 5th to the students from the Faculty of Design.
The exhibition is organized in the framework of the Francophone Days in Lithuania, which this year is dedicated to environmental issue, and can be admired until March 12th.
