Mărțișor celebration in Vilnius

On March 1st, 2020, at the House of the National Communities in Vilnius, the Embassy’s team and members of diaspora from Lithuania participated in the traditional reception on the occasion of spring holiday, the festive event being dedicated to the Martisor celebration and organized in cooperation with the Association of Romanian Language and Culture "Dacia" .
In his greeting speech, Ambassador Serghei Mihov congratulated the members of the diaspora on the occasion of the beautiful spring holidays, noting that the Martisor represents a symbol that over the centuries transmits the beautiful message of hope and revival, while also representing an essential element in promoting our national cultural heritage, both locally and internationally.
Also, in order to promote the Martișor and the cultural practices associated with March 1st, included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity, the heads of the diplomatic missions based in Vilnius have been gifted with a Martisor from the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova, in the spirit of the beautiful traditions associated with the arrival of spring.
